TCU women’s soccer announced a stellar nationally ranked recruiting class.  Head coach Eric Bell has announced the 2018 signing class featuring seven student-athletes. The group was recently ranked #15 by TopDrawerSoccer.

The signing class features four athletes from the state of Texas and one each from California, Florida and Georgia. Representing Texas are Messiah Bright (Dallas), Tatum Condrey (Missouri City), Leslie Fields (Southlake) and Chaylyn Hubbard (Spring). Hailing from California is Maddy Warren (Los Angeles). Peyton Crews heads to TCU from Orange Park, Florida, while Brandi Peterson comes to Fort Worth via Atlanta, Georgia.

“We are very excited about the class that’s coming in to join our TCU Family,” raved head coach Eric Bell. “They are a very talented group, with a lot of different intangibles they bring to the table from tactics, to the soccer, to the technique. They have power and athleticism. All these things you put in a pot and hopefully things work out. I’m very excited about the group and I think it’s one of the most talented groups that we’ve brought in since we’ve been here.”

Messiah Bright F Dallas, Texas (Cedar Hill HS/Solar Soccer Club)
Played club soccer with Solar Soccer Club under Adrian Solca and Derek Missimo for their ECNL and DA team... was a three-time Dallas Girls Cup Champion … club placed third and was a finalist in two separate ECNL seasons ... called up to the U-18 USWNT for training camps in Florida and Switzerland in 2018

Bell on Messiah Bright:
“Messiah Bright is a local talent from Cedar Hill. She’s a forward, a goal scorer, a strong powerful young lady, athletic and fast. She can score goals in a lot of different ways; with her head, with her feet from distance, from inside of the foot passing into the goal. She’s very good back to goal holding the ball. Messiah has a very good soccer IQ. Her club team is a top team in the country and we look for her to bring that experience to TCU Soccer.”

Tatum Condrey MF Missouri City, Texas (Ridge Point HS/Challenge Soccer Club)
Played club soccer for Chris Maravalli and Pat O’Toole at Challenge SC in their ECNL program ... helped lead her team to an undefeated season in district play, going 24-1 overall as a junior ... earned first-team all-district honors in 2016 and 2017

Bell on Tatum Condrey:
“Tatum is an attacking left-sided player who typically plays in the back as a left back and has the propensity to get forward. She can get forward much like Ryan Williams (2018 draft pick for NC Courage). She’s a very fast and athletic player - very competitive and hard to beat as well from a defensive perspective. We are looking forward to seeing her get up and down the field with pace and athleticism. Overall, she has a big engine. We can’t wait to see her here at TCU.”

Payton Crews MF Orange Park, Florida (St. Johns Country Day/ODP)
Played club soccer for Florida Elite Soccer Academy under Brad Schmidt … played on the Region III Olympic Development Team ... member of the 2017 ODP National Championship team ... helped lead St. Johns Country Day to seven straight high school state championships and an undefeated record (87-0) in the past three seasons under Mike Pickett

Bell on Payton Crews:
“She’s a very talented midfielder who can play in many spots. She’s a very versatile player, very composed on the ball, has a very high soccer IQ and has good athletic ability. She is also top notch in the air with her timing and ability to read the ball in flight. She can time her jumps and be a threat to score goals in those moments. I’m looking forward to having her in the mix. She can do a lot of different things, so we can plug her in in a lot of different places if we need to. She has had a ton of success in her youth career and we are looking forward to her bringing that winning mentality to TCU Soccer.”

Leslie Fields MF Southlake, Texas (Southlake Carrol/Dallas Texans Soccer Club)
Played club soccer for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club under Jesse Diaz … was a four year captain for her club team ... helped lead Southlake Carrol to back-to-back District 6A championships in 2017 and 2018

Bell on Leslie Fields:
“From nearby South Lake, she is a local talent that we were able to have join us here at TCU. She is a wonderful player with good technique that has the ability to score goals. She plays in a very good high school system and is a leader for their program and her coach Matt Colvin. We’re excited to have her in the mix and have her competing for time up top to score goals for us.”

Chaylyn Hubbard – MF – Spring, Texas (Klein Collins HS/Challenge FC)
Played club soccer at Challenge FC under Chris Maravalli, Pat O’toole and Stuart Self … was selected to first team all-district and named the Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 … called up twice to the U14 national team camp in 2013

Bell on Chaylyn Hubbard:
“She is an athletic, versatile young lady who can play midfield, can play up top and can play in the back. She is very technical and composed under pressure. She is also one of the fastest players in the program. We can plug and play her in a lot of different spots. She has been with us all spring and done a wonderful job adapting to college soccer and our environment. She is living up to everything we hoped for her.”

Brandi Peterson – D – Atlanta, Georgia (Chapel Hill HS/Concorde Fire)
Played club soccer with the Concorde Fire under James Harris … earned first team all-region in 2016 and 2017 … was a second team all-region team selection in 2015 … selected as the region offensive player of the year in 2017

Bell on Brandi Peterson:
“She is a very athletic, talented young lady who is ultzra-competitive. She is an extremely hard to beat player in the back. Very composed on the ball when she wins it and has the ability to connect passes and build from the back, which we’re looking to do as we move forward as a program. More importantly, defensively, you can’t beat her. You can’t beat her in her athleticism or pace. We’re excited to have her in the mix. She also plays for one of the best youth teams in the country and she will bring a winning mentality to TCU Soccer.”

Maddy Warren – F – Los Angeles, California (South Hills HS/Slammers FC)
Played club soccer at Slammers FC under Walid and Ziad Khoury … club team was three-year national playoff qualifier … comes from one of the best clubs in America … varsity starter for South Hills HS … scored 72 goals and 171 points in her high school career, both second all-time in school history

Bell on Maddy Warren:
“She is a very athletic and versatile player. She can play up top and can also play in the midfield. She is from a very good system with the Slammers out of California. Another player who is used to winning and we look for her to bring that to TCU. She plays with a very good high school team in South Hills where she has won a state championship. She’s a strong, powerful young lady with a high soccer IQ. She is composed on the ball and will compete for playing time right away.”
