Well soccer fans it is that time of year.  Dallas Cup is fast approaching and the Super Group has been finalized with a fabulous field of 12 vying for the coveted title.  English powers Manchester United and Arsenal highlight the field of talented squads.

EC Vitoria of Brazil will return to the tournament for the first time since 1999.  The team won back to back Super Group championship back in 1996 & 1997 before transferring four players to Serie A in Italy!  Joining EC Vitoria will be fellow country-mates Red Bull Brasil who attended last year’s edition but were not able to get out of group play.

Mexico will be well represented as Tigres, CF Monterrey and Queretaro will be in attendance.  Both Tigres and Chivas were able to get out of group play last year with CF Monterrey falling in the title match to FC Dallas on a late goal.

Higashi Fukuoka continues the annual participation of a team from Japan. This group has won three straight national championships in the All Japan High School Tournament. We shall see how they do with the professional competition here in Dallas.

The MLS youth academies will have three teams on hand as defending champion FC Dallas, Atlanta United and Toronto FC will be competing.  FC Dallas will be looking to go back to back after last year’s title.  The schedule will be coming soon as the 2018 Dallas Cup will be taking place March 25 - April 1.
