The TCU womens soccer team closed out the regular season on a high with a come from behind win over Baylor last weekend.  After a scoreless opening half Baylor opened the scoring in the 57th minute through Raegan Padgett.  TCU wasted no time in getting the goal back when Yazmeen Ryan made a strong feed to Emma Heckendorn, who’s shot from just outside the area went into the upper near corner for a tie game.

Neither team was able to find the winner in regulation and overtime was needed. In the 99th minute of play the Frogs would get the important golden goal.  Heckendorn got the play started with a leading throw-in for Ryan. The freshman picked up speed heading towards goal when she was tripped up inside the 18. On the ensuing penalty kick, Tijana Djuricek didn’t miss her mark as her first career goal won the game.

The exciting victory leaves TCU with a sparkling 12-5-1 record (already the 2nd most wins in program history).  A Big XII mark of 6-2-1 leaves TCU in 3rd place headed to the conference tournament in Kansas City where they will open against Kansas on Wednesday.  Coach Eric Bell has the team well positioned for a deep Big XII Tourney run and also an NCAA Tournament appearance.  If TCU gets past #6 Kansas they will face the winner of the West Virginia v Texas Tech contest.
