A perfect start to the Big XII schedule on home soil for the TCU womens soccer team and coach Eric Bell.  Kansas and Kansas State came calling to Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium and both left with losses this past weekend as TCU moved to 8-3 and 2-0 in conference play.

On Friday evening Kansas sat up very defensively making things difficult for the TCU attack.  Despite bossing the possession and scoring chances the home side was unable to get the final ball and find the important goal.  Shots were 22-6 and corners were 11-1 in favor of TCU, but Kansas would hold out and send the match to overtime. The Lady Frogs would finally get the goal they deserved in the 106th minute when a corner kick was finally cahsed in.  After Kansas cleared the box on the set piece, Ariana Owens put the ball right back into the mixer where Tara Smith fired home for the winner.

Sunday afternoon brought Big XII newcomers Kansas State to town.  Another defensive minded side set up deep to thwart the TCU attack.  KState was unable to manage a single shot on goal or even a corner kick the entire game, but held out defensively deep into the 2nd half.  TCU fired 15 shots and also had 15 corners. It was an own goal that provided the winning margin though.

In the 76th minute, disaster struck for the Wildcats. Ryan Williams lobbed the ball into the attacking third. A K-State defender got her head on the ball only to see it float into the back of the goal for the only tally of the afternoon.

With the win TCU moves to 2-0 in conference play and will await the arrival of Oklahoma State on Friday evening before traveling to face Texas Tech Sunday.
