Keller takes control of District 3-6A Soccer race

The district soccer season is winding down and the playoffs are clearly in sight.  Last night the Keller Indians affirmed their status as top dogs in District 3-6A soccer as they thrashed Keller Central 3-0.  They have yet to lose a district match in regulation in their nine games and currently hold a three point lead over 2nd place Fossil Ridge.  Both teams have three matches left with Fossil Ridge having a much more difficult remaining schedule than the Indians.

Fossil Ridge holds a slim one point lead over 3rd placed Abilene despite Abilene playing one more match.  It could come down to a season ending game when FR makes the long trip to Abilene. Either way both Abilene and Fossil Ridge look solid for playoff berths.  Mason Wallak is making a case for District MVP this season as he has notched 17 goals thus far.  

The big battle looks to be for the final playoff position. Timber Creek has made strides this year and are in a tight race with Keller Central.  Timber lead by two points but CFC are right on their tail.  Both teams have had trouble winning matches in regulation this season and it shows in the standings.  Each have played five matches that were decided in penalties. Everything to play for to grab that last playoff spot! Weatherford would need to win out and get some help to have any chance while hard luck Haltom sits in last place losing all four of their shootouts this season.

Keller                 6-0-1-2  for 22 points from 9 games
Fossil Ridge      4-1-3-1  for 19 points from 9 games
Abilene              4-2-2-2  for 18 points from 10 games
Timber Creek    2-3-3-2  for 14 points from 10 games
Keller Central    1-3-4-1  for 12 points from 9 games
Weatherford     1-4-1-2  for  7 points from 8 games
Haltom              0-5-0-4  for  4 points from 9 games
